How to recover lost partition?
« on: 2012/03/07, 12:59:55 pm »
I have a compaq presario c700 with preinstalled windows vista. Hence, I have 3 hard drive partitions: one for windows, one for other files and one for recovery. Then, I wanted to learn linux, so I created a small 50 GB partition and installed ubuntu with grub feature. This works fine. But when I upgraded windows vista to windows 7, my 2 partitions (one with ubuntu and a recovery partition) are lost and that memory is not appearing anywhere. The USB boot is also disabled. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks for the help.

Before trying anything I recommend you to grab Super Grub2 Disk and boot from it.

Try the Detect any OS option. It will tell us if these partitions are actually lost or not.
