NOTA SOBRE EL ERROR DE GRUB EN LA INSTALACION DE UBUNTU 8.04
Puede alguien confirmar que este error ha sido resuelto en el ultimo lanzamiento:

EJEMPLO 1
La instalación parece ir bien - He hecho tanto la guiada como la manual. Después de la instalación - No puedo arrancar la uniadd IDE/ubuntu - incluso
cuando es el master primario (y el ide con WinXP está desconectado). Puedo arrancar el CD de Ubuntu y mirar las particiones y ver que están correctamente formateadas como ext3, swap, etc.
OPCION 1: Reinstalar con particionamiento manual
Si uno no tiene Windows un particionamiento manual que debería funcionar es el siguiente:
- /boot - 300mb - ext3 - primary - al principio
- / - 20gb - ext3 - primary - al principio
- /home - 20gb - ext3 - primary - al principio
- /swap - 5gb - swap - logical - al principio
